Pablo Dante: Infinite Expressions

Episode #230: Pablo Dante's work is an attempt to use a wide array of colour, texture, and form to create visually stimulating imagery. Dante continually explores the range of possibilities allowed through choice of materials and conversely allows these materials to explore him, primarily through painting. Dante is vehemently opposed to using art as a means to represent imagery or direct aspects from the real world due to the fact that oceans are of incomprehensible complexity so why depict them? Dante believes that artspeak gibberish is art's own worst enemy and thus goes to war day in and day out in his rigorous studio practice. Dante inherently knows the object is always there, and it should be discussed directly. Rather than carefully stepping around the object and thinking about what it might be, Dante instead shifts his focus to what it is. Dante draws inspiration from The Modernist tradition, and the concept of emphasizing a material's 'competency', in his case, the flatness of paint and its saturated pure colour to complete work for his solo show, Infinite Expressions. Art21 Has gained exclusive access into Pablo Dante’s studio to obtain a very rare interview with the man striving to express his millennia through paint. Follow Pablo Dante on Instagram to stay up to date on the grand opening of his upcoming solo show, Infinite Expressions. https://www.instagram.com/whoispablodante/
