As soon as the referee started the fight, Weidman wasted no time looking for the takedown. Rockhold caught Weidman in a guillotine, but the position stalled. Rockhold pretty much dominated the remainder of the fight. The turning point came in the third when Weidman tried a wheel kick. Rockhold caught it and grappled Weidman to the ground, the first time in his UFC career that Weidman was taken down. Rockhold delivered a flurry of devastating shots that bloodied the champ. Shockingly, the fight was allowed to continue but it didn’t take Rockhold long to finish the job.
