RECIPE
Ingredients:
3 bone in prime rib
¼ cup canola oil
½ cup ground pepper
½ cup kosher salt
1 cup milk
1 cup cheese whiz
3 tbsp yellow mustard
¼ cup prepared horseradish
1 tbsp sour cream
3 tbsp mayonnaise
Martin’s potato rolls
Sweet barbeque sauce
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 325F
2. Rub canola oil onto the surface of the prime rib.
3. Mix together salt and pepper then cover all sides of meat with mixture
4. Place meat on a resting rack fitted with a tray or baking dish underneath. Roast in the oven until the internal temperature reads 115F.
5. Remove from the oven and immediately wrap tightly with multiple layers of plastic wrap. Set aside to rest until the internal temperature reads 130F, about 1 hour.
6. Meanwhile, make the cheese sauce by whisking together milk, cheese whiz and mustard in a pot over medium heat. Whisk until smooth, set aside.
7. Drain the liquid out of the prepared horseradish then stir with sour cream and mayonnaise
8. Remove bone from the prime rib. Slice meat as thinly as possible.
9. Place a few slices on a Martin’s potato roll then top with cheese sauce, creamy horseradish and sweet barbecue sauce.
