In this scene from Guillermo del Toro’s “Frankenstein,” the Creature (best supporting actor Oscar nominee Jacob Elordi) has befriended a blind man (David Bradley), who has shared his love of books. The Creature is exploring his sense of self, and his sense of purpose, and seeks answers – in literature, and in his own fragmented memories. “Frankenstein,” a Netflix release, is nominated for nine Academy Awards, including best picture.
