This Trunk's Contents Are Frozen in Time

We're back at @NationalParkService's Museum Conservation Lab, where textile conservator Anne Ennes takes Adam Savage through the careful unpacking of a trunk that once belonged to Bertha Cone, wife of "Denim King" Moses King, supplier to Levi Strauss & Co. at the turn of the 19th century. Here's how conservators separated, cleaned and flattened the many mystery bundles of textiles that bugs and mold had dined on for over a century in the North Carolina heat and humidity. Could you guess from the thumbnail what some of the mystery bundles are? We're doing a panel with current and former National Park Service museum conservators at Awesome Con on Sunday, March 15!!!
